Sour Cream Chocolate Cake

1 cup of water

3/4 sour cream

1/4 Crisco or shortening (use this kind) I have tried to use different brands and it doesn't come as good as it should.

1 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda

1 teaspoon of salt

1/2 teaspoon of baking powder

2 eggs

2 squares of chocolate (use this one)


Kitchen aid all for 30 seconds in medium (Melt the chocolate in the microwave, start slow to make sure you don't burn the chocolate. When melted please mix with the butter before adding to the batch.

Bake at 350F for 30-35 minutes.










Sour Cream frosting


1/3 cup butter

3 square of chocolate (please, please, use this one for perfection)

1/2 cup of sour cream

2 teaspoon of vanilla









To make the frosting. please melt the butter and the chocolate together, then slowly start adding the sugar. Mix on medium for 30 seconds

add the sour cream and the vanilla and mix on high speed for about 4 minutes.


Let the cake cook down, cut in the middle and fill it with frosting, add the top and then cover the whole cake with the left over. if you are like us, you might want to double the frosting batch. It is never enough
